Progress Update - 100th Tweet Celebration!

One hundred tweets ago, I was just getting started on the biggest writing project of my life with the help of three close friends - SideraWriter, Audrey Henry, and Scarlet Laurel. At the time, I was aiming for a totally different game style which would probably never have developed into an app. Now, we're planning full release on multiple platforms, the game style and art is completely different, and we've added many new design elements like music and sound effects. Things have changed a lot, and I'd like to update you on our progress (so you know we're still very much on the job!)

1. - The Script
OP9 is (finally!) nearing completion and currently has about 19,000 dialogue lines with over 120,000 words. Target finish will be around 140,000 words with 23,000 dialogue lines. (That's about twice the length of my first YA novel.)

2. - The Art
Audrey Henry, our fabulous artist, has been working hard on the digitized main character lineart. Every main character has at least two outfits: a training uniform and casual everyday clothes. There are also many different special poses and outfits, such as one character who plays the violin, and another who is severely injured (no spoilers!) I've heard that it's going to take a total of 60 or 70 sprites, depending on how many more characters are introduced throughout game development. We're moving as quickly as we can without sacrificing quality to time, and the final result is going to be amazing.

3. - Release Date and Platforms
We're currently planning to release OP9 on Android, iOS, Mac, and Windows. As we get closer to full release, we'll consider the best way to make the Windows and Mac applications available. Right now, we're planning to use itch.io. If you have a preference, find us on Twitter (@aerialartgames) and DM or comment, or use the comment form here on our webpage. Our goal is to make OP9 available to as many people as possible, so we want to hear your thoughts! While we don't have a date for the full release, we are working toward a deadline for the demo. I will post more details on our Twitter page as we get closer.

4. - Plot!
You play as Ami Madison, translator at OP9 who's getting bored and looking for more exciting work. When at last a mission comes available, you leave the country with a few of your closest friends in quest of a secret that could either save the world or cost your life. Your choices make all the difference.
