What Happened to OP9?

If you follow us on Instagram, you've probably noticed that we a) haven't been posting much lately, and b) haven't said anything about our first major project, OP9. There's a good reason for each of these things, and I wanted to take the time and update you about the progress behind the scenes here at Achromia.

First off, OP9 is still in the works and is scheduled to be released next year. None of us realized quite how much work building a 140,000 line visual novel is (which is a good thing, because we plunged right on into that ocean with no hesitation). There are about 20 characters with many different expressions and positions, each of which must be hand-drawn by our artists. In addition, somebody has to run through the game and check for typos, programming errors, and story inconsistencies, making more work for the already over-tasked members of our team. Our lead writer has to write the story, and our programmer has to write the code to make the game work and look pretty. There are hundreds of parts and pieces that all have to be put together before we can release a stable, enjoyable game to the app stores, and we want to make sure that our work has the highest quality possible. To all of you who are still with us, thank you so much. We're working hard to make it worth the wait!

In the mean time, we've prepared a much shorter visual novel called Control, which is already available in the Google Play App store. This game is a little less story-oriented and more like a solvable puzzle, but it uses a similar interface and style to OP9 and was written by the same author. We hope you enjoy Control while waiting for the release of our first project!

Once again, thank you for sticking with us. We are looking forward to many more releases and updates in the near future!
